The Mooting Society is a student organization under the aegis of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos established in September 2008. The Society’s mandate is to cultivate and develop crucial lawyering skills in students of the Faculty. The establishment of the mooting society was prompted by the need to have an organized student body that would readily undertake the task of representing the faculty of law, university of Lagos at competitions, locally and internationally Our activities include Moot and Mock-trials, Arbitration, Model United Nations, Legal and Brief Writing, among others. Currently, the Mooting Society is probably the only Law Faculty of Nigerian Universities that consistently partakes in the yearly NMUN Conference.

The Mooting Society has participated in several moot competitions, both national and International. The Honorable George Timinimi Moot & Mock Trial Competition, Wole Olanipekun(SAN) Moot Competition, Bamidele Aturu Moot & Mock Trial Competition are some of the moot competition we have participated in nationally. We have also participated in The African Human Rights Moot Court Competition successively for the past seven years, The Commonwealth Law Moot Competition, Phillip Jessup Moot Competition where we won several awards and recognitions for our Oratory Prowess and the Quality of our memorials.
